Karen Simms

My story: I have been teaching at Karalee Community Kindy since January 1998. When I first started teaching here, the kindy was still working out of the community centre next door. I am very passionate about my work in Early Education. I am a strong advocate for children and the belief of learning through play. I love my work and we all, too often, live and breathe our jobs. I believe in the power of developing strong relationships with the children and families in our care. Research shows these relationships are so powerful in allowing the children to feel confident, comfortable and capable in a learning environment.
I love spending time with family and friends, taking my furbaby on adventures and searching out new cafes with delicious coffee.

My story: I am the "Miss Powles" of the Green Group. I have been at Karalee Community Kindergarten since 1999. I have spent a few years in the child care arena too. I love working with young children. I am in constant awe and amazement of their imagination, their thinking processes and their creativity. I heartily believe that children learn best through play. I try to get to know the children in my care and develop a relationship with them, studies show that children thrive when they are in a caring, comfortable and safe environment, this is what I strive to provide for them.
On the rare occasion that I am not at kindy, I like to go to the movies, attend Trivia Nights, read books and I sometimes like to garden but the chooks also like to dig up my gardens when they visit so....
Fiona Sippel

My story: I work at the kindy in the office on Wednesdays. My three children attended this kindy. I have also been a member of the Management Committee.
In January 2016 I was employed as book keeper and in January 2017 took over administrative duties.
I enjoy supporting my children's sporting lives and gardening.
